Lukas JB Schmidt is today a wine visionary, master winemaker, and the creative mind behind the luxury wine brand LUKAS SCHMIDT . His story begins in Bullenheim – a village of 300 souls at the end of the world, where the Schmidt family estate has been rooted for eleven generations.

Lukas faced challenges early on: frequent new beginnings and unexpected hurdles in his childhood became a driving force in his life. Once an outsider, he is now an underdog, a fighter, and a go-getter. When he returned to his small hometown after many years, he was a stranger in a familiar place. But it was precisely there that he found the courage and ambition to continue—and reinvent—the centuries-old family tradition.

At just 21 years old, he took on responsibility and brought a breath of fresh air to an industry that has been around for millennia. Smart wine concepts, the founding of his own start-up, an innovative joint venture, and finally the birth of his own brand followed – always driven by the conviction that anything is possible in life.

In the Schmidt dynasty, it is customary for the family business to always bear the name of the person who leads it into the future. This gives Lukas a twofold strength: the trust of ten generations – and the freedom to realize his own unique vision.

To achieve great things, even his ancestors had to take innovative paths. For example, Frank Schmidt, Lukas's father, created an exclusive wine for Pope Benedict XVI in the 2010s – only nobody called it visionary back then.
